Edo assembly passes bill to prohibit open grazing

Edo State House of Assembly has passed the bill for a law to prohibit open grazing of cattle.

The motion was moved by the Deputy Speaker, Roland Asoro, and seconded by Francis Okiye.

The lawmakers passed relevant sections of the bill with amendments to sections 5(7) and 5(8).

The Speaker, Marcus Onobun, thereafter directed the clerk, Yahaya Omogbai, to give the bill its third reading and forward clean copies of the bill to the governor for his assent.

Enugu commissioner resigns over political ambition

Enugu State Commissioner for Environment and Mineral Resources, Chijioke Edeoga, has resigned from the State Executive Council. Edeoga, said his voluntary resignation was to enable him to pursue his political aspiration and also to align himself with the provisions of the newly amended Electoral Act, 2022. The Commissioner thanked Governor Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi for finding him worthy to serve under his administration as commissioner from 2015 till 2022.
