The Federal Government had on Wednesday, said it has no fears about a potential economic shutdown, hours to the end of the 21-day ultimatum issued by the organised labour.

The labour minister Simon Lalong, in a meeting with the Vice president, responded to questions concerning the strike by the organised labour, saying there is no problem and that the posture of the president is towards the welfare and prosperity for workers.

The union had handed down the 21-day ultimatum over the delay in sharing palliatives, saying it might be compelled to declare an indefinite labour action if its demands were not met.

According to the union, all is set for a total shutdown of the economy, which would start at the expiration of the ultimatum on Friday.

Recall that the Nigerian Labour Congress issued a 21-day ultimatum, on September 1, insisting that the federal government meets its demands.
