Abbas Urges NARD to Suspend Impeding Strike

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas has urged the National Association of Resident Doctors, NARD to immediately suspend the impeding strike.

Abbas made the call at a meeting between the leadership of the House and NARD in Abuja on Monday against the backdrop of a looming strike action which notice had been issued.

He urged them to suspend the impending industrial action, because the new administration was still in the process of settling down as Ministers were yet to assume office.

Britain’s first £1 million footballer, Trevor Francis has died at the age of 69. This was disclosed by the  family's spokesman on Monday. Francis joined Nottingham Forest from Birmingham in the record move in 1979, scoring the winning goal in the European Cup final that year. According to the spokesman, the former England forward died in Spain from a heart attack.
