Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has expressed deep concern over the rising wave of violence, kidnappings, and killings across Nigeria.

In a post on his official X account, Obi condemned the recent killing of Supersport TV crew members and a police officer, who were ambushed along the Ihiala-Orlu Road in Anambra State.

The victims were en route to cover the Super Eagles’ 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers against Libya.

Obi, a former governor of Anambra State, lamented the deteriorating security situation, noting that non-state actors continue to terrorize communities, leaving families in mourning with loved ones kidnapped or brutally murdered.

He called for urgent action to curb these persistent attacks.
