2 sentenced to 10 yrs imprisonment for possessing illegal firearms

A Delta State High Court sitting in Kwale has sentenced two men to 10 years imprisonment for possessing cut-to-size single-barrel guns.
The convicts Joshua Anamali, 25 years and Nelson Adoh, 30 years were arrested by police officers, who were on stop-and-search duty on January 27, 2021, in Ndemili community.
Trial judge, Justice Onyeawuli Enenmo, who reviewed the case of the prosecution and that of the defence, found them guilty as charged.
The prosecuting counsel, Catherine Oboreruomo while presenting the case, related that two witnesses testified against the defendants.
Oboreruomo after the judgment, advised young people to shun crime as it leads to condemnation and destruction.
