NBA sets up legal support services against violation of human rights

The Nigerian Bar Association has set up free legal support services, as a result of the ongoing hunger protest for anyone whose fundamental human rights may be violated.
Yakubu Maikyau, the association’s president, in a statement issued on Thursday by the NBA National Publicity Secretary, Akorede Lawal, explained that directives have been sent out to all chairpersons of the 130 branches of the association to take up cases of breach of fundamental human rights of persons involved in the protest.
He urged law enforcement agents to be professional and respect the human rights of others in the discharge of their duty while advising participants to go about the protest peacefully.
