The Federal Government of Nigeria is set to partner with the European Union to leverage technology in reviving the nation’s economy.
This was announced by the Minister of Innovation, Science and Technology, Uche Nnaji, represented by Matthew Adepoju, Director General of the National Space Research and Development Agency (NASRDA), at the recently concluded Nigeria-EU Innovation Days seminar in Lagos.
According to Nnaji, this collaboration aims to boost research and development in technology, advance technological innovation, and unlock Nigeria’s potential in the tech sector, emphasizing that technology innovation is crucial for economic growth.
The minister also highlighted that the partnership would enhance capacity building and that the government is committed to providing robust support from stakeholders in both the private sector and academia to drive this collaboration.
Stakeholders at the two-day seminar, jointly organized by the European Union and the Nigerian government, expressed optimism that the EU-Africa Innovation Agenda would be transformative for Africa.
