Police operatives on special assignment have arrested a 37 years old notorious cultist, Philips Omomedia, allegedly involved in series of cult related killings in Delta State.
Delta State Police Public Relations Officer, Bright Edafe, confirmed the development in a statement on Tuesday.
The Police also recovered one automatic double barrel gun with 15 live cartridges from the suspect.
The suspect, who is an indigene of Onogo-Vor clan of Oghara, was arrested in Oghara community, Ethiope-West Local Government Area of Delta State.
The arrest followed a series of reported cases of cultism and gun-running in Ughellli, Warri, Sapele, Oghara and its environs.
The lifeless body of a yet-to-be-identified woman has been reportedly found in a bush along Amaraku-Umudim Road in Isiala-Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State. The incident took place during the early hours of Tuesday and the woman’s identity has remained unknown to the public.
