Plateau Government to Begin Vaccination of Cattle

The Plateau Government is to begin vaccination of 4.3 million cattle to curb the spread of anthrax in the state.

The Director of the Plateau State Ministry of Agriculture, Sipak Shase made this known while addressing newsmen in Jos on Tuesday.

Shase said that the state government has already bought 200,000 doses of vaccines.

According to reports, anthrax is caused by the spore-forming bacterium, Bacillus anthracis, which primarily affects animals, such as cattle, sheep, and goats.
