NUT Appeals to Sanwo-Olu for Increase in Retirement Age

The Nigeria Union of Teachers, NUT, has appealed to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, to increase the retirement age of teachers in public schools in the state from 60 to 65 years in accordance with the Retirement Age Act enacted by the National Assembly.

The NUT President, Titus Amber made the plea in Ikorodu, Lagos on Tuesday during the Education Leadership Workshop organised for State Working Executive Committee members of the Lagos State Wing of the NUT.

Amber, who was represented by the National Treasurer, Segun Raheem said it would be a morale booster for teachers in the discharge of their duties.
