Edo State government has decried the rising cases of Lassa fever in the state.
The state Commissioner for Health, Obehi Akoria, revealed that the state has recorded three more confirmed cases of Lassa fever, raising the total number of confirmed cases on admission to 26.
Akoria charged residents to take preventive measures against the spread of the disease, avoid bush burning, indiscriminate waste disposal and maintain high standards of communal hygiene.
The Commissioner implored healthcare providers to desist from managing illnesses beyond their scope and to promptly refer such cases as early treatment is key to survival and containing spread.
Chelsea has signed Atletico Madrid striker Joao Felix on loan for the rest of the season. The Portugal international has also signed a one-year extension to his Atletico contract through to the summer of 2027. Felix has gone on to score 34 goals in 131 appearances in all competitions, with 18 assists.
