FCT Minister Condemns Killings At Dei-Dei Market

The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Ramatu Aliyu, has condemned the violence and killings at the Dei-Dei market in Abuja.

A statement issued by her Special Assistant on Media, Austine Elemue, appealed for calm and peaceful coexistence among the diverse groups.

The statement called on indigenes and residents to be law-abiding to ensure peace in the Nation’s capital.

Recall that violence erupted at the Dei-Dei market on Wednesday following a clash between commercial motorcyclists and traders, leading to the death of at least five persons.

Sokoto State Governor, Aminu Tambuwal, has lifted the curfew imposed on the state over the unrest that followed the killing of Deborah Samuel. A statement issued by the State Commissioner of Information, Isah Galadanci, banned all forms of procession in the state indefinitely.
