NULGE Calls for Functional Local Government System

The Nigerian Union of Local Government Employees, NULGE, has described governors opposing local government autonomy as enemies of the masses.

Speaking at a media parley, NULGE President, Ekiti State Chapter, Babatunde Olatunde, maintained that Governors opposing full autonomy of 774 councils are considered enemies of the people and nation.

Olatunde posited that Nigeria’s problems would be tackled with a functional and responsive local government system.

The Presdient added that the local government should be given administrative and financial autonomy to be able to meet the needs of the people.
